wow! i have a newfound respect for the accordion, what an amazing instrument, such special sound, I wonder how the mechanism inside it works the keys

Wow! That is a nice accordion. That piece is hard enough on the pipe
organ. I have played accordions that were smaller but I only played
polkas on them. I have played toccata & fugue on the piano which
sounds very different. It sounds more mysterious.

And we organists thought this was a difficult piece on our instrument ...

Actually no, its the same as the keys, just used with buttons. They are called diatonic accordions.

Its a rather simple and ingenious design!
It runs of reeds, metal onse to be specific, and for the ammount of keys on the board, there will be a corresponding reed. Later today I will pull apart my small 12 button accordion and show you just what it does!

I bought my accordion off ebay for $35.00 USD, and did a minor repair job to it, knowing nothing about accordions at the time, and now it runs perfectly! One of the reeds had popped loose, so I glued it back into place, and now the air pressure is strong, and I get great sound, although the A bass button isnt perfect, it still gives me the desired effect.

No, I am not an professional accordion player, but I do enjoy learning with my little box...I am learning to play it properly, but then again I am a bit of a folk musician of sorts. :p

I've always like the accordion. Ok, not always, but since I heard it well played a long time ago. We have a tv channel that plays programs from Europe, and there's one music show from France (forgot the name) and they sometimes have really fine accordionists as guests. Fantastic stuff.
