    Non-organist?!

Hi, I'm new here and to the world of music-making. Thirty years after leaving the musical environment of college and of working in heavy engineering and mining, I am re-discovering the fun of singing. I joined a local choral society, and have been persuaded to help start a new choir at my local church.

I am not an instrumentalist. I tried, several times when I was young, but I didn't have the patience. Perhaps I hadn't found the instrument to inspire me. Maybe the organ is that instrument?

    Welcome to MIMF, Gerard Lardner

I've found the organ to be very inspiring ... but then I've been playing it for what seems an eternity ...

Welcome Gerard, You never know what you can do un til you try so just go for it. Glad to see that you are into Choral music so you must have a real interest in harmony, have another look at organs or keyboards where you can try out all the harmony you want. Good luck. Sylvie Pacey

    Organ

    Wellcome Gerard

If you have a PC computer and a Midi keyboard, you can try playing organ for no money, with a virtual organ such as Kloria MyOrgan.
    Try it, it is wonderfull.

    Welcome Gerard,

Maybe the organ will inspire you. Always has me and I never intended being an organist at all, but somehow I never quite managed to escape the king of instruments...

Hey man! That's the land where I became a miner for a couple of years.

And to everyone else, thanks for the welcome and encouragement. I'm looking for a nice MIDI keyboard on eBay at the moment, to try one of the PC-based organs.
