Admiral of Fugues
Being somewhat partial to Johan Sebastian's music I purchased (very cheaply I might add) the "complete Bach in PDF" called the Digital Bach Edition. It is totally based on the incredible 1890 Bach Gesellschaft edition. Unfortunately there is no English translation of any of the preface material, my German's poor but did manage to work out some luminaries that worked on this incredible (first) edition:
Dr. Franz Liszt (Weimar)
I. Moscheles (Leipzig)
Dr. R. Schumann (Dresden)
Dr. L. Spohr (Kassel)
Amazing to think that the best of the best in Europe at the time were involved in this incredible edition. If you'd like to know where I purchased it, go to www.cdsheetmusic.com (no, I don't work for them or have any relationship with them except as a customer).
