• Welcome to the Pipe Organ Forum! This is a part of the open community Magle International Music Forums focused on pipe organs (also known as "church organs"), organists, organ music and related topics.

This forum is intended to be a friendly place where technically advanced organists and beginners (or even non-organists) can feel comfortable having discussions and asking questions. We learn by reading and asking questions, and it is hoped that the beginners (or non-organists) will feel free to ask even the simplest questions, and that the more advanced organists will patiently answer these questions. On the other hand, we encourage complex, technical discussions of technique, music, organ-building, etc. The opinions and observations of a diverse group of people from around the world should prove to be interesting and stimulating to all of us.

As pipe organ discussions can sometimes become lively, it should be pointed out that this is an open forum. Statements made here are the opinion of the poster, and not necessarily that of the forum itself, its administrator, or its moderators.

In order to post a new topic - or reply to existing ones - you may join and become a member by clicking on Register New User. It's completely free and only requires a working email address (in order to confirm your registration - it will never be given away!). We strive to make this a friendly and informative forum for anyone interested in pipe organs and organ music.

Got these youtube vids in my inbox this morning - Oh My Gosh.......

Had Liszt heard his Mephisto Waltz played like this???

I wonder what Ms. RoJo will say?

If I had technique as good as that I'd probably wear the white sprkly outfit too!

On second thoughts I don't think I'd even do it then. Mind you he's creating his own particular signature isn't he just!!!!!!!

Hi Krummhorn,

Thanx for adding the specs. Say, all what I hear is deafening silence from Ms. RoJo. She is probably shell-shocked after witnessing the pyrotechnics provided by Cameron.

Cheers,

Corno Dolce

Contra, Neb, maybe he couldn't afford a tux. He would have looked
great in a tux playing the organ. I like to watch someone play the
organ. It shows me how to take on a certain note. To me, he did
a splendid job.

You are welcome ...
On the contrary, I think rojo will appreciate the talents of Cameron in this transcription to organ ... especially the fancy footwork. Makes my thighs ache just watching this young virtuoso.

I was shocked the first time I saw him on Youtube. Hardly believed it was possible what he was doing.

Hello Krummhorn,

*Makes your thighs ache*, eh? After hearing Liszt's piano oeuvre transcribed for organ for the past 15 years, I have a very hard time in listening to them on just a concert grand - they just seem flat and uneventful.

Cheers,

Corno Dolce

p.s. I'll probably now get *flamed* for being a heretic - eschewing Liszt for piano and espousing Liszt for organ, transcription or otherwise.

Hi Krummhorn, thanks for the info and the link on the specs. At first I thought it was the organ at the American Cathedral in Paris(the arrangement of stops above the manuals looks very similar),it occurred to me later, while going through my Cd collection that the organ at the A.C. in Paris is a 4m organ. Is there maybe an organ transcription for the Hungarian Raphsody No. 2?
