Sorry Mat I didn't read your post properly I was thinking of the Piano man

I've known the piano man for a couple years now. It's the other Bill that's a discovery to me.

He's got a distinctive style, I reckon, but it can get a bit tiring in the long run.

Anyway, which albums would you say are your favorite?

Via Spotify, I just listened to the album Leucocyte by the Esbjorn Svensson Trio. For me, it really didn't do much. Many of the pieces sounded like noise or special effects with very little thematic development or creativity, IMHO. This is the first time I've felt disappointed and "let down" by anything this wonderful group has done. I know--from hearing excerpts--that their other albums, namely Something Else Before and From Gagarin's Point of View, are far more melodic and have more to offer me by way of enjoyment. Indeed, one of my next purchases from Amazon will in fact be the former cd.

Teddy, I just listened to Beimsha Swing from that cd via Spotify, and I am very impressed indeed. I'll listen to the rest of it sometime tomorrow. Thanks for the heads up!

Again, courtesy of Spotify, I listened to E.S.T. Retrospective-The Very Best of the Esbjorn Svensson Trio. Genius, not a doubt about it!
