Jazz in Andalucia

Hi Jazz musicians !
I'm a french jazz drummer and I live in Andalucia (Spain).
I'm trying to meet other musicians in Andalucia (and Gibraltar) to play many sorts of Jazz for pleasure: brazilian musics, latin jazz, funk jazz, flamenco jazz... and so what?
I have my own musical studio in my house with some professional material : my drums (Sonor Designer with Zildjian cymbals), percussions, piano Kawai MP8 Mk2, sound system Yamaha StagePass 500.
If you come to Andalucia, get your instruments and let's play together. The sun is warm and the beer is cold. The music will be hot!
Cheers!

One of my favourite jazz drummers from the US - Jack DeJohnette - plays Sonor drums and Zildjian cymbals, so I guess you´re not short of cash?

Thank you for the invitation to Andalucia in Spain "The sun is hot and the beers and cold", sounds really great hombre Jazzdrummer. When shall we arrive?:grin::grin::grin:.

Hello Jazzdrummer,

Welcome to the MIMF. So nice to have another jazz fanatic:grin::grin: (in the most positive meaning of this word of course). I bet you'll have a great time here:).

When shall we arrive? :grin::grin::grin::grin:.

Hey Intet, can I go too? Can I? Can I?:grin: Oh, it'll be so fun. We're going to Spain - yay:). Sorry, couldn't resist:p:grin:.

Best regards,
Mat

Mat, buddy of mine - AWESOME :lol::lol::lol:!!

You´re absolute right. Since you´ve a couple of days ago invited the entire MIMF to the Carnegie Hall or was it The Royal Festival Hall in London, we should all get together to get aquainted. And Spain is exactly what the two of us definitely long for. Hot weather, hot chicks and cold beer. See you soon.

LMAO!!

Jazzdrummer, now for the adress in Andalucia?

Muza dear, did you think we forgot about you? Nope. Remember this is primarely a training camp for Mat. Breakfast, then 5 miles running, boxing classes, lunch outside, then practicing music until 8 PM, and finishing with 5 miles running and then we go to the city, since they eat late in Spain.

Btw. Muza dear, who down there in the sunny hot Andalucia love the Beach Boys like me, eh?

'A training camp for Mat...' lol, this sounds like I have a lot hard work to do:grin::p:grin:. I have better idea for a day-plan. We get up late then we have breakfast. Then to the beach to swimm for a while and get a tan:grin:. After that sumptuous lunch accompanied by a glass (or two) of fine whiskey. After that long, long jam session (All the best titles: My funny valentine, All the things you are, etc.) up till late late night. Then if we are still able to do anything - bracing 5 miles (not Davies:p) running. Yeah, that's more like it. What do you think?

@Muza - I take it as a compliment:p:grin::)

So I guess a glass of whiskey would turn me into alcoholic for the rest of my life??

CT64, if you don't want to go to the beach then don't. You'll join us later, on our jam session:).

Mat

A healthy physical fit for fight body equals a healthy mind, but at the same time the natural sound interest in an 18 year old Laphroig for instance, the finist scottish breewed WHISKEY a man can be treated with - "All the day and all of the night", I´m with you :grin::grin::grin:

Open fire at the beach at night will make Contratrombone64 without sunburns and chances of cancer, I believe after he has had a tiny taste of the scottish eleksir for Night´s, he wants to jam like the rest of us. Perhaps we can make Muza sing, now that would be the top of the Pops. Can´t wait.

Mat, why don´t we head for Andalucia (yesterday) on behalf of all MIMF´s to scout the territory and find the small cosy taverns :cheers::cheers::cheers: so all our jamming friends don´t have to waste valuable time on this. Do you have a four wheel, or should we go by train, or perhaps hitch hiking?

Besides, all that physical exersize has to be built up slowly, under directions of dozens of spanish female fitness instructors, who knows what they are doing.

Contratrombone64 and Mat

Remember what the big time drunk in american films Mr. W. C. Fields always stated: I don´t believe in a man who doesn´t drink. He did for sure.

Once he was stopped by the blues on a Harley Davidson on his way to the funeral of Basil Rathbone. The police officer looked at the whiskey bottle safely put between his legs, sitting behind the steering wheel.

The policeman looked suspiciously at Mr. Fields and asked: You have been drinking while driving?

Mr. W. C. Fields steady as a rock: Sorry laddy, No you can´t have, I only brought enough for myself to last for the cemitary.

Then he drove of leaving the policeman paralized. And it´s a true story.

I only have a two wheel but won't propably work for the two of us:p. So I guess we'll have to 'take the A train'. :):)

Healthy lifestyle comes first. And since spanish female instructors know the best what is the right way to keep fit I will not object:).

There's one more thing. Did Jazzdrummer agree for all that?:grin:

The A train is always cool. Perhaps we should wait until Jazzdrummer enters the adress. Btw. What happened to him? Haven´t seen him lately here, perhaps he thought reading our criss cross post towards Andalucia: No way, turists :grin:.

So keep playing and studying various instruments. The way things have turned out Mat with the problem on receiving your music, you simply have to make a demo CD, have it published so I can enjoy it, please.

Or one of these days, I manage to get it directly from you.

Jazzdrummer, welcome back ;). Where have thou been lately?

You don´t have to worry about the "but no sex with boys". I am a middle aged male, but straight hetero - like the lyrics say from the song by John Lennon "Woman" or rather since married twice - Women :grin: catch me if you can :grin:.

Of course, I can´t speak for anyone else, I mean if you are a female?

However this would not be the reason for Mat and I to scout the territory in Andalucia. Tell me, why have you decided to go abroad to live in Andalucia, Spain instead of in France?

I have been to France many times, both traveling through on buisness or on vacation in the city of Paris, Chatereux southeast of Paris, Nice on the south coast to the Mediterranean Sea and in Monaco (the very small independent state between France and Italy), the cities Lyon, Grenoble and Marseille, the last 3 only on buisness.

I´ve even been at the top of the Eifel Tower in the town "de la mour" of Paris, only to realise then I got terrified because of the height, when first up on the platform on top (I never pretended to be James Bond), which had me move straight into an anxiety attack, to which it did not help me one bit, when someone in the escalator going down again told me: Eat some froggs, and you´ll never be afraid of heights anymore.

I believe it was a joke though? Couldn´t figure out what froggs had to do with an axiety attack.

I got over the anxiety attacks because of hights back in Denmark with the help of a teraphist and hypnosis, but I never got over the idea of eating froggs.
