Introducing MonteVerdi.tv - The First Online Digital Concert Hall

WebRep MonteVerdi

New member
Hello Magle International Music users,
MonteVerdi, a new and unique digital concert hall, has opened its doors and is excited to offer the first integral platform for classical music and opera for the Internet, digital TV and for mobile devices. Check out the website at www.monteverdi.tv

The site contains high-quality video on demand, live streaming (1.5Mps) and audio downloads (320 kbps) combined with an excellent database offering a wealth of information about artists, composers, orchestras, and other related subjects. This will allow wide audience access to performances and recitals that were previously only available to a limited group of concertgoers. MonteVerdi has been developed to bring together professionals and devotees of classical music and opera from around the world.

The premiere on MonteVerdi will be the St. Matthew Passion, as performed by the Netherlands Bach Society under Jos van Veldhoven on Friday, March 14th. It has been made possible by collaboration between the ‘digital concert hall’ MonteVerdi and the AVRO television company. This will be the first live online broadcast of the performance! An interview about the performance with conductor Jos van Veldhoven can be viewed at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vSWyUrKPEuI

Check out the website for yourselves though, I am sure you will not be disappointed.

If you have any questions about this new website, please don’t hesitate to ask! We look forward to welcoming you to the MonteVerdi community.

Hello everyone,
We are wondering if anyone was able to enjoy the live performance of St. Matthew Passion by the Netherlands Bach Association on MonteVerdi.tv on March 14th? Or perhaps one of the re-broadcasts that have been available since then? For those who missed it, there is a portion of the concert available on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7tqUQ87lYM

If were able to view it, we are curious to know, what did you think? MonteVerdi is very interested in what could be done to improve the site.

Perhaps you were not able to experience the performance, but have been on the website. How did you like it?

We would love to hear your opinions. And Happy Easter!
Cheers,
Ben
