Well, I just had to make a thread for Michael and his music.

I thought it might be fun to post songs sung by Michael that are less well known. Lately I've been listening to this beaut. Sort of jazz, R&B.

He's a fantastic vocalist. Wub!

I grew up with Michael Jackson's music. He is just a year older than I.
He was cute as a little boy singing Ben and Rockin Robin.

Here is what the late, great Frank Sinatra had to say about Michael-

“The only male singer who I’ve seen besides myself and who’s better than me - that is Michael Jackson.” - Frank Sinatra

Here is what the late, great Fred Astaire had to say about Michael-
“Oh, God! That boy moves in a very exceptional way. That’s the greatest dancer of the century”. - Fred Astaire

“I didn’t want to leave this world without knowing who my descendant was. Thank you Michael!”- Fred Astaire (shortly before his death)

I agree; there is definitely something indefinable about MJ. Although I'm not sure why you're sorry; I'm not.

Maybe it's this:

Excerpts from MJ's HIStory Tour; the music is form Stranger In Moscow written by Michael Jackson.

Or perhaps this:

Remember The Time (more well-known, and one of my favs )

Well, you're certainly entitled to voice your opinion, but perhaps you best avoid this thread if you don't care for MJ and/or his music; this thread is a place for kindness, support, respect and love. :)

true - but in actual fact, MJ was a very, very gifted performer, extraordinary (even if I don't like his music per se) unlike, um, er, Ms Brittney Spears who has less talent than a gnu's arse.

"There is still much more to come from Michael Jackson." - quote by Michael Jackson from a video presented at the 2008 NRJ Awards in Paris earlier this year. (see clip)

I hope to be able to replace the 'was' in your post with an 'is' someday soon lol  This clip gives me hope.

This thread will be where I will be posting news about MJ's music career. I'm really looking forward to having something to post! When there will be something, I'll be on it. lol

Britney Spears is a fine-looking woman. I actually enjoy one song that she sings; Toxic. The video is very cool, and I find Spears to be very hot in it. Although I'm not gay. Just sayin'. lol Not surprising that she is popular, looking like she does.

I don't like every single song MJ ever did, but I do enjoy many of them a lot, and some Jackson 5 tunes as well. I guess being a funk fan helps; I like to groove lol. Although I don't enjoy every funk tune that exists either; I have a few favs.

Pop/rock/funk etc. music has it's limitations, but basically I enjoy good songs in pretty much any genre. Yep.

I have already stated my opinions on MJ in another thread on this forum, so I don't feel the need to reiterate. Basically, MJ is fantabulously awesome and incredible as a performer; can't be beat except by maybe some of our fine classical and jazz musicians. And that's just because their music is more complex, and therefore richer. lol

I am a big, big fan of both the man, and his music. Go Michael! :)

I happen to live in Santa Maria, CA, where his famous, or infamous, trial took place. I even served on a jury under the same judge (now retired) who did that one. That was one time when all the newsnoses found out where Santa Maria is -- you should have seen the congestion on Miller St.

Now my question -- HOW did this get into a pipe organ forum?????

Thanks for introducing this, Rojo. I have very fond memories of the girls at my school being divided down the middle, The Jackson Five vs The Osmonds. But, then again, I'm older than I usually care to admit! I was on this side - http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=C4VCUbL7jsc&feature=related
Hi Vicki,

Yah, that 'side picking' thing was weird; why can't one like both? That said, you picked the best side! :p:lol: I've nothing against the Osmonds, of course. J5 are just more better, is all; they've got Michael...

Hi dll927,

Well, this forum isn't just a pipe organ forum, although that's a huge part of it. There are all kinds of boards here, for any and all kinds of music. This thread is in the general music debate part of the forums. :)

Hey Rojo,

to all your other talents I have to add another one - you're a GREAT PROMOTER!! This is quite clear a hyping case for Michael Jackson.:)

Well, I have never actually truly listened to his records, I am rather a proggy freak...But having read all this ( and watching through the videos of this young gentleman ) I am ready to admit - hey, the guy surely has a talent! Maybe he will become a star one day, who knows?? :):):)

Hi Andrew :) Your posts are always so much fun.

Well, I'm quite sure MJ doesn't need any hype whatsoever from me; his talent speaks for itself. I'm just a big fan, and I guess it shows. It's easy to get excited about something you really enjoy.

Thanks for reading and watching; I love a heap of prog rock myself. As I mentioned, I love all kinds of stuff. *goes to visit prog board*
