I am not sure Judy, but I want my food and drink to taste as they should. I don't want them messed about with.

I'm not so clear that I'd be going near this dish.

Corno,

It is a bit scary looking, but I'll bet it does taste good. (just overlook the bloody-looking sauce.) Pork and eggs...a yummy combo.

Potato diet? Never heard of such a thing. Now a fruit diet can be very wholesome.

It sounds like something akin to the Atkins Diet...all carbs and fat. It was all the rage for a while. I knew some people that were on it and actually lost weight. But I think it unwise to sacrifice proper nutrition and a well-balanced diet for fads.

It didn't help Dr. Atkins attain more than some fame and money as he isn't around today to defend his diet. C'est mort!

BTW, my friends that were on that diet were morbidly obese and eventually they all had bariatric surgery. Now they weigh less than they did in college and they are all mid 50s - 60s.

Well I will not go into detail, but a Serbian man has just put a cookbook on an internet site.

I shall not be rushing to try his recipes, the book is called "Cooking with balls". No more is necessary.

Goddbye barf barf.

If you live in a small country town in my neck of the woods you would
hear of such food. That's when either a bull or hog was slaughtered
for food and the farmer would save the animal's nuts. I have heard
that it can be tasty rolled in flour and fried in some kind of fat.
Don't worry I'm not going to touch that kind of food with a ten foot pole.
Talking about unusual foods. I have been munching on these root veggie
chips and they are delicious. The root veggie chips are taro root, yuca,
beets, ratata or cuban sweet potatoes, and parsnips. They are to die
for! They are so good they melt in your mouth. The most unusual one
of the roots is the taro. This is the root of the elephant ear plant which
comes in a bulb. I never dreamed of the elephant ear bulb being so good.
But there is one catch on this veggie. You have to really cook it to get
the toxins out of the root.

I just had a vegetarian dinner with cheese and a tortilla wrapped around
the veggies fried with a little bit of soy sauce. For dessert was a bowl
of activia yogurt. I loved it along with a slice or two of papaya.

How about this for a Christmas dinner.

Brussels special Christmas dessert

The humble Brussels sprout is set for a makeover this Christmas - in the form of an ice cream dessert.
A London restaurant is to serve the dish - thought to be the first of its kind - with a turkey jelly and cranberry foam to turn the traditional Christmas dinner "upside down".
Stuart Ferguson, head chef at Vivat Bacchus restaurant, has created a menu starting with a mincemeat and gruyere pie starter followed by a duck and orange Christmas pudding main course.

.....

I love tripes (intestines)!! AT home we usually cook them for like and hour or two in hot water and then fry them lol. I can't say I've tried anything more bizarre than that but I've been trying to get my hands on some bull testicles (ha ha ha I'm not trying to be perverted) but they don't sell them around here and I'm not about to cross the border (that's like a death sentence right now). I'd also like to try churduckin (a chicken stuffed in a duck then stuffed in a turkey and it's deep fried) lol

Aloha AlmasPerdidas,

I have some good friends in the Austin area who make a mean "Churduckin" - I relish it!
