Unusual foods

Another Round of Uzbek foods:

Uzbek food is very rich in fat, calories, and carbohydrates. That comes from the fact that most Uzbeks worked in agriculture, and had very large families.
One of my favourites is Samsa, puff dought pastry pockets stuffed with meat, pumpkin, potatoes or whatever else you want.

That looks yummy to me. Although I would have a hard time eating
it right now. I think a soft tortilla with cheese would suit me fine
right now.:p

Hi Muza

Don't give up shopping, these sort of scary things don't happen very often.

That samsa looks and sound delicious.

We have something similar called a Cornish pasty

ts

They come from Cornwall and many years ago, when the men worked in the tin mines, their wives would make them for their lunch. The pasty would be quite big and in one end they would put vegetables and meat, and in the other end fruit and jam. Sounds weird but, it was a meal in one.

Margaret, that sounds really interesting ;) A whole meal in one pastry, lols ;).
I know about shopping, but its another reason to make my husband do it for me ;)

Judy,
Those things are pretty soft, so you would probably find it enjoyable and easy to eat ;) even with your broken tooth ;(

Muza, my broken tooth is gone I had it pulled almost a week ago.
Right now my mouth is sore from all the pulling and tugging to get
the rest of the tooth out and the tooth next to it was used as a
wedge to pull it with is sore. I just need to get myself ready to
get rid of the rest of my upper and get dentures.

T.M.I. -

Gotta be painful, though ... best to get it done straight away, and without delay ... if any of the remaining get infected and/or abscess, you pain will increase ten-fold. I hate going to the dentist ... but mine does tell some pretty funny jokes - last time almost swallowed a fistful of cotton laughing so hard.

Some dentist are not so funny. What I hate the most are the shots.
I almost see stars when the dentist puts them in. OUCH!

EEEIIIKKK !!!

Well folks, I am giving up on grapes.

A lady bought some grapes, from our local Tesco supermarket. She took them home and began to eat.

Then she spotted something unusual in them, she wrapped them up and put them outside.

It turned out the something unusual was a black widow spider.

How scary is that.

Ever heard of turtle soup? People in the south love this stuff. I never
had it though. I just take their word for it.

Turtle soup is a real dish! The cajans love it. Because they use a
snapping turtle and crawfish with vegetables soup.

Im sure it is, Judy. I've heard of it before. And I would love to try it, but I have not seen it anywhere around here. Maybe I should try some cajun restaurant.

I've never had sharkfin soup either, even though it is very much available around here.

Wow, those are real bird nests? Those are edible? I think I'll just stick with the good old hot and sour ;)

Hi Muza and Judy

I don't blame you, I wouldn't fancy eating a birds nest.

My favourite soup is chicken and sweetcorn.
