SciFi, has to be Clarke and Asimov, not many Fantasy fans here, but how about Anne McCaffery, & Piers Antony, novels for me Ernest K Gann takes some beating. For something a bit different Jean M Auel's "Earth's Children" series has to be one of the best researched works ever, over the last 31 years she has written 6 books in this series set in prehistoric ice age times.

Reverting to my childhood.........Arthur Ransome and his series of books about the Swallows and Amazons, mainly based around the Lake District. Still read them. Still love them.

I enjoy Scandinavian mysteries; Hemming Mankell and Karin Fossum are two fine example. And of course the late Stig Larsson

Bo Setterlind of Sweden has written some fine poetry, which regrettably is being forgotten.

I have to say that Anna Karenina defeated me ... I just couldn't get into it. Far to complex and far too many people for my poor-ol dementia ridden brain to keep in its short term memory.
