Hi, my name is Mike Visaggio and I play keys and sing in an upcoming prog keyboard trio called Kinetic Element. We are in the format of ELP but I think we kind of lean towards Deep Purple. Well I told the Deep Purple board that we lean towards ELP. So I guess we are somewhere in between. We are bound and determined that we will crash this niche in the music world because, well, we aren't half bad if I do say so myself.

You can find out all about me and us at:

I made a solo CD in 2006 in order to start this thing up, which landed me two guys to form Kinetic Element. So we are performing the CD "Starship Universe", some new music we have created as Kinetic Element, and some covers from places as diverse as the Doors, early Genesis, Pink Floyd, Jethro Tull, ELP and Blind Faith. I guess we are keeping 70's type prog alive. I like the new stuff like Flower Kings, Spock's Beard, Niacin etc., but what can I tell you, I write what I write! A bunch of our music is posted at Myspace at the link above.

We got some important prog showcase gigs for May of which the first was May 2, 2008 at Jaxx in the DC area opening for Circa. My blogs on Myspace tell the story of that show and of May 10 in Baltimore supporting Rare Blend at Orion Studios, and May 17 back in DC with IZZ and Ephemeral Sun among others. Plus our most important gig coming up August 29, the opening band for the Prog Day Pre-Show at Local 506 club in Chapel Hill NC.

I have two great guys along for this ride, Michael Murray on drums and (for now anyway) Tony D'Amato on bass. I know some of you will hate my singing. Well when somebody who sings great wants to throw in with us that person will get an audition!

I hope you find the idea to your liking. It's spiritual classic prog. Yes it leans Christian. No I have nothing whatsoever to do with Pat Robertson!!! There are 30 reviews of Starship Universe, the best are linked at www.sonicbids.com/mikevisaggio in the Press section.

God bless you all. Prog lives!
Mike (the mad organist) Visaggio
