    Goodbye Paul Newman

For those who don't know, the actor Paul Newman died of cancer.

I will always remember him from "The Sundance Kid".

    May he rest in peace.

And I'll remember him for his role in *The Sting*.

he had the most beautiful blue eyes ... sigh.
I'm not an atheist and I don't think I can call myself a pantheist. We are in the position of a little child entering a huge library filled with books in many different languages. The child knows someone must have written those books. It does not know how. The child dimly suspects a mysterious order in the arrangement of the books but doesn't know what it is. That, it seems to me, is the attitude of even the most intelligent human being toward God.

I was just about to say that, CT64.

Sad news. He left behind a fine legacy.

Indeed ... Paul Newman was one of my favorite actors. A legacy in his own time.

I've been enjoying his salad dressings for years ... the regular Caesar dressing is superb.

A sad day indeed. Marval, I agree with you about that movie.

I'm dating myself here, but I have fond memories of my school arranging a movie as an end of term treat. They chose Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid without taking into consideration the effect that shooting both Paul Newman and Robert Redford would have on a hall full of 15-16-year-old girls. We were in floods.

Paul Newman IS high-class. not only he was a great actor, but most of all he was a man with heart, a real sense of humour that doesn't seem to represent the US nowadays, and he also had great taste concerning the movies he played in.

THE sequence: butch cassidy and the kid rush out of the house, not scared of guns
