Bass Guitar.

I saw this first thread message, saying everything bass, and asking about an Ibanez Bass. If you are punk/metal with some jazz, you should have a deep tone/mid-punch double coil by the neck with a single coil by the bridge as softener. If you have a long scale, you could even use two single coils with a lead, getting more of an acoustic sound at quieter volumes.

But when I saw bass forum, I thought about those Ampeg bass amps I used to see in the late 60's and early 70's. Before then, The New York Musician's Union put these amps in studios and other businesses to set a standard for studio bass, and as a convenience for bassists. Being boxy, you unclamped the lid and turned it over to set it up for use, exposing the electronics. I think a single fifteen. When they scrapped this policy and sold everything, I saw quite a few studio bands using them on the road. The two bassists I heard who sounded like double bass, only louder, used Dan Armstrong Ampeg clear plastic body bass guitars. Playing with Herbie Mann and Rahasaan Roland Kirk.
