Looking for organist for Galway Wedding

Hi I'm looking for an organist for my wedding on the 27th May 09 in St.Brigid's Church, Clonfert Road, Portumna, Co.Galway. Wedding is on a Wednesday and will probably be between 1 and 2. I have to still confirm the time with the priest.
If anyone is interested can you email/PM me with with prices and also a little bit of your background in the music industry.

BTW my Sister will be singing. She sings at weddings and funerals. Also runs 2 choirs, one of which opens the offical xmas lights in Dublin(St.Andrews, Westland Row,Dublin), so she definately knows what she's doing.

We live in Dublin but are getting married in Galway

Sorry, I can't help, does the church not have an organist? You could always put an advert in the Galway local paper saying you are looking for an organist.

I hope you find one, and wish you well for your wedding.

Welcome to MIMF.

There is an Irish Guild of Organists that may be of help in finding a suitable organist for such an event.

I echo the question of Margaret's ... certainly the church has an organist? There is also a professional concern amongst organists in general - our code of ethics if you will - that we don't engage for the playing of such a service without the full permission of the present parish organist. Here in the US, members of the American Guild of Organists (of which I am a member both nationally and in the local chapter) also supports this ideal.

It is possible that this particular parish has an organist that only plays service music and doesn't desire to play for other services like weddings and funerals. Still, a prospective guest organist should secure the permissions of the resident organist.

There is a possiblity of organists from the UK that may be interested, although some travel expenses may be included in their fees. A google search found this listing of organists in the UK.
