• Welcome to the Pipe Organ Forum! This is a part of the open community Magle International Music Forums focused on pipe organs (also known as "church organs"), organists, organ music and related topics.

This forum is intended to be a friendly place where technically advanced organists and beginners (or even non-organists) can feel comfortable having discussions and asking questions. We learn by reading and asking questions, and it is hoped that the beginners (or non-organists) will feel free to ask even the simplest questions, and that the more advanced organists will patiently answer these questions. On the other hand, we encourage complex, technical discussions of technique, music, organ-building, etc. The opinions and observations of a diverse group of people from around the world should prove to be interesting and stimulating to all of us.

As pipe organ discussions can sometimes become lively, it should be pointed out that this is an open forum. Statements made here are the opinion of the poster, and not necessarily that of the forum itself, its administrator, or its moderators.

In order to post a new topic - or reply to existing ones - you may join and become a member by clicking on Register New User. It's completely free and only requires a working email address (in order to confirm your registration - it will never be given away!). We strive to make this a friendly and informative forum for anyone interested in pipe organs and organ music.

Bravo Maestro J.P. - You have one of the finest gifts given by the Eternal One - that of composition. With that gift you can leave a wonderful legacy to the future generations. Those of us who know and like your style of composition are very grateful for any jewels that flow from your keyboard.

Humbly and Respectfully yours,

CD :):):)

Thank you Jean Paul, some more beautiful music from you. I don't think there is anyone here who would not want more.

Thank you Musicalis for the beautiful music. I happen to love all kinds of
gospel music from what you play on the organ to what kind of contempory
gospel that I listen to. I just began to play on wednesday night for my
preacher and realized how out of practice I was last night. I work and I
worked on it and then I didn't get to play it after we had to move to another
room. I love this hymn and I guess your congregation sings it in french.
To God be the glory. I played that one last night.

Quite lovely, Musicalis, and I found it deeply moving.
The virtual organ sounds are excellent, too. I could hear a light tremulant on the reed in the 2nd variation, but there seemed to be a different kind of modulation present in the 3rd variation. Can you give any details?

tremulant

Yes analogicus, there is tremulant on the vox humana of the 2nd variation.
But in the partita 3, there no modulation at all, only Montre and Bourdon of Great are playing. the tremulant is only on Swell and i do not use this manual in this 3rd variation.

The pipes of Pibrac organ have been sampled by a friend of mine. he is not a professional, but he has recorded the pipes in better conditions than some sample-sets sold very expensive by some foreign companies. The result is that you believe your are in the church when you use this sample-set. Pibrac sample-set for MyOrgan or Hauptwerk 1 can be purchased for 35 euros only, and I think for this price it is really a gift.

Thank you, Musicalis. I've had another, careful, listen to Partita 3, and I can hardly hear the effect I referred to. I conclude that if it is there at all, it may be produced by the reverberation. I doubt that it is in the voicing of the pipes.

It may be the reverb, yes (SIR, with Chicago cathedral impulse).
It may be too the compression to MP3 or the reduction 24 bits to 16 bits because my virtual organ is in 24 bits.
