yeah, I guess it was a confusing thread from the start. Basically it was a call to people to posts their own comments to the various reviews posted in the now defunct "Reviews Forum". So the thread is now more or less pointless, but I let it stay because it had wandered so much off topic and I thought some of the comments were funny and shouldn't get deleted.

I'm going to rename the thread to something more appropriate....

Steve, as I don't bother to follow the news I'm afraid I have no opinion at this time. If previous presidential campaigns are anything to go by (or any other election campaigns world wide come to that) to me it's just another media circus. As with most elections these days the voter gets screwed whichever candidates win.

You're absolutely right about the voter getting screwed over. And we can thank the Supreme Court of the United States for letting corporations contribute as much as they desire to whatever candidate they desire. An individual can only by law contribute as much as $2,500.00! So, now the voter gets to choose between tweedle-dum and tweedle-dee. And third party candidates are not given equal mainstream media time like the repub/demo candidates.

Me too ... so far, there isn't (imho) a worthy candidate to get excited about here for office, including the incumbent. All anyone is doing these days in the American politics is bashing one another - if they would stick to talking about what they are going to do instead of what they think their opponent is not going to do, it would be easier all around. I hate the bashing ... it's immature and bad sportsmanship - again, imho. Those who do the bashing are automatically X'd off my voting list.

Between all the streets signs messing up our views and the constant barrage of unwanted telephone calls, I've had enough of it ... it's beginning to sway me into not voting at all anymore ... not the right attitude probably, but I'm getting very discouraged lately.

Thank you for your thoughtful inlay. After reading it I perceive that maybe there is a concerted effort going on, orchestrated by operatives of the repub/dem parties to get as few people interested in voting in order just to keep whatever incumbent in office, thereby validating the "Status Quo" politics. And now more and more Americans live in fear of their Government. Remember this: When Government lives in fear of the people, there is Liberty - When people live in fear of their Government there is Tyranny.

Here in Tucson, we have "mail in" ballots ... we no longer go to a polling place ... it's all done via US Snail Mail, which I think is really stupid and very expensive. The day after we mailed our ballots, we received a phone call from one of the parties, asking if we had voted ... we replied 'yes' ... and the caller then asked "who did you vote for?"

Well, needless to say, that's none of their business, and I tell them so ... voting is by secret ballot ... they will find the results when the votes are tallied. One time I must have stupefied the caller when I answered "well, I did not like any name on the ballot, so I wrote in Ross Perot and mailed it in!" There was a long silence on the phone line - what seemed several minutes ... then the caller simply hung up, apparently not able to comprehend my write in candidate. :lol:

Bravo for your gutsiness to write in Ross Perot. The answer or "non-answer" on the phone is quite incriminating of a process that is being orchestrated by operatives.
