• Welcome to the Pipe Organ Forum! This is a part of the open community Magle International Music Forums focused on pipe organs (also known as "church organs"), organists, organ music and related topics.

This forum is intended to be a friendly place where technically advanced organists and beginners (or even non-organists) can feel comfortable having discussions and asking questions. We learn by reading and asking questions, and it is hoped that the beginners (or non-organists) will feel free to ask even the simplest questions, and that the more advanced organists will patiently answer these questions. On the other hand, we encourage complex, technical discussions of technique, music, organ-building, etc. The opinions and observations of a diverse group of people from around the world should prove to be interesting and stimulating to all of us.

As pipe organ discussions can sometimes become lively, it should be pointed out that this is an open forum. Statements made here are the opinion of the poster, and not necessarily that of the forum itself, its administrator, or its moderators.

In order to post a new topic - or reply to existing ones - you may join and become a member by clicking on Register New User. It's completely free and only requires a working email address (in order to confirm your registration - it will never be given away!). We strive to make this a friendly and informative forum for anyone interested in pipe organs and organ music.

I am sending this off to all you talented people to hopefully get some assistance. I run a home Haunt during Halloween that accepts canned goods as entry for the local food pantry. So If I havent scared you off yet I need assistance.

I am looking for Modern music done on a classic pipe organ for a new prop. I have searched everywhere to find this but have had no such luck, and now need to go directly to the sorce of the music. You

I am looking for a cd of about 6 or 7 songs. Like Eagles, queen, Stones or actually anything that would be recognised by adults to keep them interested and invite some humor.

If this is out of line in asking this. I am really sorry and mods please dump this posting, but I am really lost on this.

Hi John,

Welcome to MIMF

Trying to have a greater understanding of your request here. Are you thinking of transcriptions of the Eagles or Stones played on a theater pipe organ perhaps?

Thank you .... Yes that is exactly what I am looking for. I would certainly be grateful for any help with this., and would be showing it off to the haunt community. It seems now the thing is to have more campy items, and get parents involved more..

However, since the people here are doing all the work. I would certainly take any music other than the standard Phantom of the opera. So If someone is into the Fixx, Cure, Motley Crue or anything I would certainly use it.
(anything but religious... I think it would be in poor taste as its use in a haunt)

Hi John,

Cool ... Well, folks. How about it? Anyone have any (other than youtube, which can't be put onto a CD) ideas or suggestions. Let's try to help John if we can.

I am at a loss personally - I haven't yet run across theater organ transcriptions of the groups you mention - hopefully others here will chime in.

I've played Pink Floyd on the Pipe Organ before now - it actually went down quite well!.

Also, the opening piece of War Of The Worlds sounds excellent on the pipe organ!!!!!

I've not heard of any recordings though.

Sorry, but best of luck John.

Thanks for the attempt everyone but this has been solved. I just payed a local church organist $200 to do a cd for me. She will be doing about 15 songs so thanks anyway.
