Ok, here's a random question for all of you fabulous musicians. I'm getting married in just under a year and am wondering if you have any wedding march suggestions. We're doing a very subtle shakespearian theme (my choir will be singing an beautiful arrangement of Come Live With Me and Be My Love) Hope you have fun with this.

well, since you are doing a shakespearian theme, I would recommend playing some English wedding music.

Although, G.F.Händel was of course later than Shakespeare, perhaps "Zadok the priest" would be nice, or perhaps that's too much "pomp & circumstance"

something by Purcell perhaps... thinking of what would be appropriate as wedding marches

What kind of music are you looking for? something calm and soothing or maybe something more triumphant?

I'm looking for somthing that will sound great on our churches pipe organ. Other than that I really don't know what I want. *smirk* helpful aren't I.

Hmm... maybe something like the Largo from Händel's Xerxes - maybe in a part organ part vocal/choral rendition (if you can't find such an edition available, then let me know, I'm sure someone in here or I'll be able to help you out with some sort of arrangement)... maybe not the most bright "wedding march" around - but it's indeed a very beautiful melody.
