I seem to watch just repeats now - no new programming really interests me.

Shows include:

Seinfeld
South Park
The Simpsons
The Amazing Race
Cheers
Frasier

And random comedy festivals broadcasted.

I can't watch much Primetime because I seem to be watching hockey all the time. I'd like to watch TV shows' seasons on DVD. That'd be a fun way to spend a rainy day - it'd be like a long movie. :)

my list is very similar to yours, besides the Simpsons (which I never really liked) and the Amazing Race. I love South Park, I think it may be one of the better written shows on television. I also like the Sopranos and Entourage (which I am excited about starting soon)

I think older sitcoms just seem to be better than new ones, I cannot get into a new sitcom for anything, the older ones were funnier and hold up better in the long run I think.

just my opinion though

Sweet - props for South Park!

I get slightly annoyed when people dismiss South Park as stupid toilet humour. It's great social and political satire.

Im currently watching Deadwood, which is dead good (excuse the pun
wink.gif
) if you are a fan of the western genre and I highly recommend it.

Definitely. Most of the dialogue(if not all) is written in iambic pentameter. It's Shakespeare with guns!!!

One of my favorite shows is actually a Danish miniseries by Lars von Trier called The Kingdom(Riget). Very funny, and occasionally quite disturbing. Unfortunately, three of the actors who played main characters have passed -- including the irreplaceable Ernst-Hugo Järegård -- which leaves the third and final installment unmade.

Some of my other favorites(most off the air, now):

Nothern Exposure
The Simpsons
The Larry Sanders Show
Frazier
Seinfeld
Newsradio
Earth 2
Star Trek: TNG, DS9 and Voyager
The Office

I'd like to add another show to programs I can watch, Lucky Louie is great, it premiered over the weekend and I loved it.

It had a set which was in homage to the honeymooners, and as a sit-com it had REAL humor, like humor I use when out with my friends at a bar, thats why I think I liked it. They had swearing and adult topics, stuff people can actually relate to and find funny. I have heard mixed reviews about it which I guess I can understand, but that just frustrates me because critics come down hard on something when they are not in the target audience anyway (which I belive, as someone in my mid 20's I am)

anyway, it is worth watching if you have HBO and enjoy off-color humor.

Ok as far as it comes to TV I have to admit I'm quite a freak. While everyone's talking about Big Brother and Lost, I really only watch 4 TV programs:
Neighbours
Docter Who
Strictly Come Dancing (and It Takes Two)
The Simpsons

I don't know if anyone else has seen any of Strictly Come Dancing, in the US and some other places they have a very similar thing called (I think ) Dancing with Stars.

I like good comedy shows the best, like Fast show. At the moment Im watching 30 rock, Prison break,Heroes and Dead like me. Heroes is one of the best tv-shows Ive seen, Dead like me made me think of death in very different way.

I watch little TV – too much else to do – but when I do watch, it includes quite a bit of sport: rugby league, football and cricket.

Dinnerladies is a perennial favourite. Only two series, but lovely – and quite sharp too. Victoria Wood is brilliant.

In terms of sitcoms, Black Books was short-lived but fun.

QI, a comedy quiz hosted by Stephen Fry is also excellent.

For sheer relaxation, I enjoy crime fiction – particularly the sort of English amateur sleuth stuff, such as Poirot (David Suchet), Miss Marple (Joan Hickson), Lord Peter Whimsey (Edward Petherbridge), The Mrs Bradley Mysteries (Dianna Rigg) and Hetty Wainthrop (Patricia Routledge), and police procedurals such as Dalziel & Pascoe and Inspector Morse.

My DVD collection recently gained I Claudius – possibly one of the greatest pieces of TV drama ever, together with Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy.

I have a few favorites like Gray's Anatomy, Ugly Betty on major network TV.
PBS has two of my favorites: 1)Waiting for God, 2)As Time Goes By.

I presume most every country has PBS shows - those that originate from BBC stations ... but do you ever get shows created in the US in Hollywood? Are they then sub-titled into your countries native tongue, or does another post production company do "voice overs"?

DVD: anything comedy - I never tire of watching M*A*S*H or the old WKRP series.
Bob Newhart, Kelsey Grammer, Don Knotts, and Don Adams are my favorite comedy actors.

Have to ask; ever watch Monty Python, Sybarite? Or see any of the Monty Python films? Perhaps a tad juvenile, but I really laughed watching some of those films.

Lately I`ve been into the comedy Arrested Development. Subtle humour, and not so subtle humour. No laugh track either. And Bob Newhart is always funny. Haven`t seen any of his shows in a while though.

I've seen quite a lot of the TV shows and all the films. I'm not the biggest Python fan, though. I do like the four Yorkshiremen: 'when I were a lad...' but that is very regional. Life of Brian is, I think, their masterpiece, while there are some very funny moments in The Meaning of Life ("Every sperm is sacred").

Generally though, I prefer the Goons. Although if you ever get the chance, try listening to some of the radio show Round the Horne from the 1960s – how they got away with what they did amazes me.

I'm not the biggest fan of US humour: Scrubs is enjoyable – for the first three series, but the latest one is going right down the tube for me.

I do enjoy MASH and some Frasier.
