God, i like such photos! Tnx, dpurq! I think black & white photos or wallpaper bear the essence of depicted things, theis real value and look.

I like the really rich blacks in some of your shots. What type of negative film stock did you use? I assume you scanned the original prints. Did creating the computer files change the contrast at all? Very Nice. Roy

I used to use B/W for portraits in the belief that you then concentrated on the subject without being sidetracked by the colours. I also experimented with pushing 400asa B/W film to 1250 then over developing to exagerate the extremes of black and white. You could almost lose the greys under bright light conditions.

Black and white film is still an important medium.

The pics are exquisite! B&W adds such a dramtic flair. Quite an eye for finding wonderful subjects. Thumbs up.

My first photo post failed - so here we go again.
Most of my original salon photos from the days of film, (printed 16" X 20" and mounted on hard board) were damaged by water recently. A few copies two of which are shown here survived having been saved previously on the computer. Several salon shots received Karsh awards, perhaps because he liked rather black contrasting images - as long as detail remained in the dark areas.

The second photo is just excellent!
