Hi therion38,

Welcome to the forum, btw.

They appear to be 8Ω speakers, probably for a hi-fi system. The larger one looks like either a 12 or 15 inch speaker. Don't know (and can't find) anything on this name brand.

How do they sound to you?

hello

Exactly they are 8 ohms and 12 inch and I think they are guitar cab speakers. But I also can't find something about this ELK Musical Instruments company. . They sound softly like vintage but I don't know how old are they and this is my problem:)

Have you tried contacting the ELK Company.
Found this site for ELK, but they do not list the Lead-301 in their current product listing.

I don't believe that anybody on this World can't help me:)
Maybe this speaker is unique:)

Hi,

It's not a matter of nobody helping you on this, rather the information itself isn't readily available in an internet search.

I've been an audiophile for many years and have never heard of this speaker brand.

If someone else in this forum has had personal experience (hands on) with this particular speaker, they will most likely speak (pardon the pun) up. Sometimes, these info searches take a little time.

Hopefully you will get a favorable reply from the manufacturer. If you do, please share that response with this forum community, as we too (at least I am) genuinely interested to learn more about this brand.

I've found this site http://www.drtube.com/guitamp.htm#Elk and of course wrote to Tech Support and they think that speaker is from japanese vintage guitar cab... nothing more...i will have to get in touch with some japanese expert...But at this moment I give up:(

This is an answer from ELK:
"...I'm sorry but the ELK LEAD 301 is not an ELK Products www.elkproducts.com part and unfortunately I don't know of the company which does manufacture this device..."
Yes really... I give up....:(

Found this front view of an Elk Musical Instruments speaker enclosure with guitar and amp.

Looks like it matches the dimensions of the view you included without the front grille.

  • The problem with a lot of components is they are manufactured by one company and then branded for someone else. Makes it harder to track them
