Well! Here's a bit of over-the-top and trashy Victorian schlock - And I Love It:

*If a man wants God to hear his prayer quickly, then before he prays for anything else, even his own soul, when he stands and stretches out his hands towards God, he must pray with all his heart for his enemies. Through this action God will hear everything that he asks* -Abba Zeno-

Thanks for pointing this out, CD! This clip is taken from an old Christophorus CD of 1986, which is now long OOP, I believe.

Ingolstadt is a strange beast. A kind of "icy beauty", soundwise; more so than your typical Klais (say, Altenberg or Würzburg). And Meister Kaunzinger's incisive playing underlines that "icy" character even more (more so than the CD recordings of the instrument's titulaire, Franz Hauk — though the Youtube sound "quality" here may not help, either).

    Aloha acc,

I happen to like the Ingolstadt beast - However, this recording is miked too close to the case - Subsequently, the instruments full colour imo, does not get to bloom - And yes, the iciness is readily apparent in the recording.

Yes, that might be a factor. I would have to listen to Hauk's recordings again to be sure, but the mikes have probably been placed farther away.
