Kinetic Element would like to announce that they have completed recording "Powered by Light", a 69:19 minute concept album of progressive and progressive-influenced rock music, with their new lineup that was cemented early this year. The CD is at Discmakers now.

KE is thrilled to have the cover art designed by Martin Kornick ("Man In The Mountain") who has done covers for Keith Emerson, Pinnacle, The Tangent and Ajalon, to name but four.

Guitarist Todd Russell of Richmond has joined Mike Visaggio on keyboards and vocals, Michael Murray on drums and vocals, and bassist Tony D'Amato (who came on board last year for the Prog Day PreShow and has stayed!). The addition of guitar has changed the focus of KE from a keyboard focused group to a more balanced symphonic prog band where Mike is doing more orchestration and Todd is taking over a lot of the old synth parts plus contributing many new parts and a solo acoustic classical style guitar piece. One of the new pieces that have completed Powered by Light may be heard on www.myspace.com/kineticelement, "See The Children." Songs 2, 3 and 4 are older trio versions of songs that will be on the CD but have taken on a new dimension with the addition of Todd. The updated versions will be posted soon. The last three songs are actually taken from Mike's solo CD "Starship Universe" which is still available. The band's electronic press kit may be viewed at www.sonicbids.com/kineticelement and there are new mix versions of the songs on the myspace player on sonicbids.

KE recorded this record at Sound of Music Studio in Richmond under the watchful eyes and ears of John Morand, a producer/engineer who has worked with Lamb of God (prog metal) and Souvenir's Young America (Progressive/ambient) among many others.

Mike and Todd plan to be at ProgDay with a vendor table and hope to see many of our friends there. We are taking pre-orders at [email protected] (please write for info) and will have it available on CD Baby.

No, we don't have a label. Any volunteers? LOL
