Strange question but: The diaphram is a muscle that relaxes when you inhale( and fill your lungs with air) and contracts as you exhale... keeping air at a steady pressure to assure your vocal cords vibrate at in an even rate( frequency) to produce good quality sound. When you inhale your lungs fill up( expand) with air...the chest holds the lungs and also so refers to sounds that are produced from that area i.e. chest register notes. The diaphram muscle allows you to release all the air in inhale with a steady pressure..... there is no diaphram air that I am aware of ( and I taught voice years) at l;east not that term.... Maybe this helps you out.. Good exercise: Take in a full deep breath .( assuming you know how to breath correctly).. put your teeth together with mouth open.. and force air out against your teeth and continue with steady pressure exhaling all the air on your lungs ( yes you may feel dizzy)... repeat.... as times goes on you will be able to increase your lung capacity and as well as length of time you may be able to sustain a note. Good Luck....

Good post, Mr Bill. I remember doing that exercise years back and my singing improved significantly. Its something I need to start doing again.
