I just discovered and implemented Streaming TV at home. A box attaches to the TV set and with a wireless connection from your internet modem/router, downloads and plays movies and tv shows completely commercial free.

I can once again watch all those old favorite TV shows from years ago. Even my favorite British shows are available ... so cool.

Anyone else have this kind of setup at home?

I don't do streaming shows, however I do download old shows and movies to my HDD and then use an HDMI cable to connect my computer to the plasma tv in the bedroom and watch them. It's a nice alternative to having to burn to disc. With my newsreader (giganews) I can download a typical 5 gig movie in about 15 minutes. I also have the option of using bintube to stream the files, but I prefer to download and save the ones I like for viewing again in the future. Of course, I have 4 terrabytes of external hard drive space.

But don't ya just love technology?

My life time clock is now in its Autumn phase, watching T.V. is wasting those precious remaining sane minutes for me ... so I don't really.

But you do watch movies, don't you David? I seem to recall a post about "The Descent" (which I watched again last week on tv). I only watch the news when I awaken in the mornings and then will watch whatever when I go to bed. Since I don't fall asleep for several hours that's when I get a chance to watch these things.

I have to admit that it is nice to be able to watch from the comfort of my own room as opposed to going to a cinema.
