Alrighty, title says it all: What was the best thing that happened to you today?

I shall start off: I got an audition for a band! And I am completely overjoyed. They've already heard me sing, so getting this audition is actually a compliment, not just a random stroke of luck. :p

So now I will practice, practice, practice until the 9. of November.

As my teacher always said: perfect practice makes perfect.

Spread the joy!

Congratulations, Buttercup

Hopefully you will keep practicing well after the audition in November. As I approach 50 years as a professional musician, I still practice every week. I haven't yet reached "perfection" as my quest for learning will never cease until the day I die. :)

I practice minimum half an hour twice a day, and have for a few years, before that it was an hour twice a week. Practice is fun :)

I am glad you woke up. Well done Buttercup, good luck to you.

The best thing that happened to me today, was I met a friend and had a chat.

Wonderful news, Josephine!

The best thing that happened to me was finding a small lizard and showing it to three children who happened to turn up at just the right moment. They're not all that common in the UK, I've only seen one three or four times in my life. (I mean lizards, obviously!) :D

Used to see lots when I was a kid, but a lot of the heathland which is their main habitat has been built on and they are now an endangered species so are protected where possible.

Today's number one was waking up to the face of my boyfriend, and realizing that I passed the terrible three days of nonsmoking, without noticing. I am now on day five. :)

I find that after 75 years, waking up has become a bit of a habit, one I hope not to break anytime soon.

I'm happy that good things are happening to you all.

Hmm, I had a very nice drive to visit my sister, and at one point I had a lovely panoramic view of water, cloud and sky. The clouds were lit up by the sun. I saw geese fly over head too.
