Jarle Fagerheim\'s Odyssey

Forum member Jarle Fagerheim - who qualifies for the young age group category I guess, as he was 16 2 months back, sets out on a solo voyage from Norway (Bore Klepp near Stavanger) to Dublin, where he is taking part in a European Young Green Conference, playing the organ in St Patrick's Cathedral, and then on to the UK. Here he has been invited by Liverpool Cathedral Organist Ian Tracey to play the UK's largest organ, and the two other organs in the Cathedral.
He is then going via Birmingham and Coventry to London, where he is going to see and play some of the best organs in that fair city, including Westminster Cathedral, Southwark Cathedral, 3 Grant Degens and Bradbeer organs (reckoned by many to be London's finest instruments - though they are now 40 years old! Fulham and Woodford (tracker action) and Hackney. Opened by yours truly in 1965 - so I don't come into the young membership category! Young at heart, perhaps. He is also going to be in the organ loft at St Paul's Cathedral on November 13th, Remembrance Sunday, by kind invitation of the Organist, Malcolm Archer, and as many other organs as he can fit into 4 days before returning to Norway. May calm seas and a prosperous voyage be yours, Jarle! You can hear Jarle playing on Organs and Organists online both on the Public Downloads page and in the Members Area www.organsandorganistsonline.com
