Was wandering around Copehagen early in the morning. The sky had the most amazing colour. I was on my way home from a party, and luckily I had my camera with me...

great shots... - on your 2nd photo it says it's 2nd pic in a series of 3 - where's the third?
what have you done in (post-)editing in anything? - what kind of camera did you use for these?

Aug-15-2004, 13:52
The picture is shot with a Canon EOS 300D DIGITAL. (digital mirror reflection camera)

Because I shot the picture towards the sunrise, I had to go with as low an ISO as possible to get the details of the sunrise, but it removed the details from the building.. almost.

So I splitted the picture in 2. First making a manip where I got forth the pictures from the building and deleting the sky and after that I put this picture in top of the other pic.

Afterwards I had the picture in 2 layers, where I could seperately adjust colourbalances and contrasts. My idea was to make it look a bit supernatural in colourscales... giving it almost the magic hour feel...

The third picture in the series will be posted online later to day. Each picture takes a little time, and usually when I do something I always do it in a series.

Aug-15-2004, 21:41
Ok. - Do you have the original picture/raw data available? - I'm a little interested in how the raw-picture differs from the final product.
What kind of software do you use for these types of renditions?

Aug-15-2004, 23:23
First of...

CPH.morning.03 (http://www.deviantart.com/view/9801383/)

I haven't got them online right now. I can post them tomorrow at my server. No problemo.

To work with the pictures I use Photoshop CS and a Wacom digitizer.

BTW... working on a funny little manip, but it's going to take some time... got a little inspired after watching Dawn of the Dead. So I will soon present CPH Zombie Madness... https://www.magle.dk/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

hey Corno. Here is an example on how a picture might look before I manipulate it in PhotoShop. This is the source picture used in CPH.morning.02

VERY cool manipulations Priest! Copenhagen looking like some unreal fantasy yet so real and everyday at the same time. Well done! (I also love to manipulate stuff - music/audio in my case of course)

Aug-20-2004, 18:31
The following are some pictures I took during a bizarre art exhibition in Copenhagen a couple of days ago. The exhibition is called halfmachine (http://halfmachine.org), and it was an event that took place for a little week.

The idea was to make an artificial eco system made out of trash materials. This was mixed with a lot of performance, and one of the shows was PornWar...

so... here are some of the pics I did.. more will come, but I'm working with some of the others as photo manips.

Very cool! What the story behind this figure?

Sep-05-2004, 14:01
the story is mostly technical... At Deviant Art I came across this drawing... but made hand drawn. I talked with the guy who had done it, and said that I would colour it for him, because it was only a simple sketch.

So I have made a lot of additions to the details of the drawing..

Apart from that... the story of this... the guy is an evil mutated nazi doctor from hell. Basically very BADASS...

WOW - thats weird Michel... but don't you just love the deviantart www site... tops!!!

Oct-06-2004, 03:23
hey tMM.. well ehm.. thanks.. far from the weirdest thing I've done. Anyway. Yes. DA is a very cool place. Loads of crap, but the greatest artist as well in there.

Oct-06-2004, 12:03
Hi Priest - apoligies... I wasn't saying it was bad... on the contrary I think it is super. Sorry if I gave the wrong impression.

As for DA, I visit often and am amazed at some of the images people come up with. I had a mate once who, if you scribbled any old rubbish on a piece of paper, he could make a masterpiece out of it. I used to say to him... "Sheesh Ken, I wish I could draw like that!", to which he always replied... "Sheesh John, I wish I could play a musical instrument like you...!!"

I guess we all have hidden talents eh! It's simply a case of finding them - especially when you have kids. Helping them achieve their potential is my lifes challenge...:)

Oct-06-2004, 12:05
Another interesting one of yours Priest, very nice too. Where did you get the inspiration for that image?

Oct-06-2004, 18:25
no no... I didn't see it as a negative remark. I know some of my stuff can be pretty weird once in awhile..

It wasn't my intention to sound negative at all.. heehe.

if you want to check out some stuff that is really weird go check out Julien P here.. http://drahomira.deviantart.com

Oct-06-2004, 18:39
It was for a contest I was part of... you had to do a photomanipulation out of a pocket watch.

So I went with the inspiration in the theme time(the clock as a reflection in the eye). The explosion is ripped from the second wtc attack. I wanted this explosion on purpose, because the symbol of it ripped apart one era of time, as well as opened a new one. Wether if we like it or not, this was an "event" in history that will have very huge historical significiance.

This is also a wake up call to the world. If it gets worse or better because of it, is hard to say yet.

This is another manip I've done with my beautiful model Ditte Campion.

Very cool job, Priest!
Your comment, about the combination that she looks innocent and her nasty eyes, are quite rigth! It gives a perfect effect. https://www.magle.dk/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/up.gif
