Thank you for sharing that. Here in the Uk we celebrate Rememberance day, on the 11th November. But thank you to the brave men and women should be said.

Splendid thread, and a very touching tribute, Corno Dolce.

Many men lost their lives at Pearl while trying to protect our country - untold numbers are still entombed in the sunken vessels. We have lots to be thankful for in the US.

For our international members, Memorial Day is a National Holiday in the US. For those interested, there is a great article in the Wikipedia about US Memorial Day.

For 2008, Memorial Day will be celebrated on May 26th.
