• Welcome to the Pipe Organ Forum! This is a part of the open community Magle International Music Forums focused on pipe organs (also known as "church organs"), organists, organ music and related topics.

This forum is intended to be a friendly place where technically advanced organists and beginners (or even non-organists) can feel comfortable having discussions and asking questions. We learn by reading and asking questions, and it is hoped that the beginners (or non-organists) will feel free to ask even the simplest questions, and that the more advanced organists will patiently answer these questions. On the other hand, we encourage complex, technical discussions of technique, music, organ-building, etc. The opinions and observations of a diverse group of people from around the world should prove to be interesting and stimulating to all of us.

As pipe organ discussions can sometimes become lively, it should be pointed out that this is an open forum. Statements made here are the opinion of the poster, and not necessarily that of the forum itself, its administrator, or its moderators.

In order to post a new topic - or reply to existing ones - you may join and become a member by clicking on Register New User. It's completely free and only requires a working email address (in order to confirm your registration - it will never be given away!). We strive to make this a friendly and informative forum for anyone interested in pipe organs and organ music.

(Note: If you wish to link to and promote your own website please read this thread first.)

    Many kind regards

General Music S3

Hi out there in Cyberland, I'm looking forward to retirement and need to start scaling down my intruments. I have a General Music S3 and need an idea of how much I should list this for. I won't go into all the features but anyone who ever has played or heard one of these knows it's a great playing keyboard with tons of features. Just the built in sequencer will keep you entertained for years. You can be your own band. No more stoned drummers. Disk drive, 32 note polyphony, killer samples, great effects, SKB hardshell case and all in like new condition. Let me know if you could tell me what this is worth. Thank you in advance.

All this knowledge and no one has any info for me? Hard to believe. But thanks all the same and have a great summer.

Hi Eightnote,

A number of members have read your posting, myself included. People respond here when they have pertinent information to share with another. Sometimes, it takes awhile for the right person to come along, read the post, and respond. As time permits, I've been researching the subject matter myself, and have not found any current pricing for what you are seeking.

For most of us here in the US, this is summertime & vacation time. School has been in session for a week so far in my region, and will start for other regions in September.

Have patience ... hopefully someone will come forth with more information.

Hi.. fellow South Carolinian: Might try some online music stores/sites and see what they might be selling for online.... I'd start with Ebay, google, amazon, also there you will find online music stores to contact. Good Luck

Since this is an organ forum, most of us don't have a lot of info on keyboards. Nevertheless, we are familiar with Ahlborn-Galanti organs which used to be manufactured by the now bankrupt General Music.

General Music went bankrupt almost a year ago, with employees still waitng to be paid wages back as far as Nov. 2008. Parts are unvailable for this instrument, since General Music has never paid for the warehouse full of parts being stored in China by the Chinese manufacturing facility.

My best guess would be that you would be doing well to get $50 to $100 for your keyboard. :(
