Follow-up:

I sincerely believe that McCoy Tyner belongs at the apex of Jazz pianists since he has been influenced by Art Tatum, Bud Powell, and Bill Evans. He brings the best of American 20th century Jazz harmony, composition and technique and African and Latin American rhythmic styles - all seamlessly blended together by a pianism that ranks right up there with the finest classical pianists.

You are most welcome, CD :):):)

This article comes from the book The Harmony Of Bill Evans by Jack Reilly.

A source of torough analysis and lots of useful info. Worth getting acquainted with.
