Opera music similar to this...

Hi, I am trying to find some opera-type music that is similar to this style. If anyone knows of anything, please let me know.

I would prefer the music to be in latin (I love that language in music). I have been searching for a while for something like this, but I haven't been able to find anything.

Anyway, Thanks a lot in advance,
Emir

Hi Emir,

I don't know about "opera" as such as this kind of music, to me, is more reminiscent of modern musical theater and maybe the songs of Enya, Era and similar "newage" artists.
As to the Latin part of your question I'm not so sure as where to look - the use of Latin was primarily by renaissance composers such as Palestrina - where Latin was "The Language" - in "modern time" Latin is primarily used in Requiems and other liturgial works - "Pie Jesu" by Andrew Lloyd Webber might fall into this category/style you're searching for.
But maybe an album with Andrea Bocelli (with or without Sarah Brightman) would have something you might find interesting.

Good luck in your search.

Cheers,
Thomas

This isn't quote-on-quote classical music, but you may like the song:

"Now we are free" from the Gladiator soundtrack.
I believe it is latin and it is quite nice.

I would agree with that. The song in the OP is along the same lines as some of Lisa Gerrard's music. Gerrard has more a dark and dramatic tone though, when the song in the OP is a little more upbeat with a romantic vibe. Regardless, both would seem to be enjoyable by a fan of one or the other.
