Its Aberdyfi, or to give it its English name Aberdovey, meaning mouth of the Dovey (river).
Will try and post some pictures as it is a special place to me. Four mile up the coast is Towyn, home of the Talyllyn Railway which was used in several of the Thomas The Tank Engine books. Worth looking up on Google if you have any interest in steam trains.

teddy, what on earth made you leave?
the local sheriff?
My family moved to England, Marlow on Thames, another beautiful place and as I was only 12 years I thought it best to go with them. I still had the river Thames to play in, on and beside so it was not so bad. Plus the chance to go o a really good Grammer school

Colin, I meant to say thanks for the pics. They are lovely.

At times I get homesick but you only remember the good things, once you remember the rain and the cold and some other things I won't mention then the feeling goes away. btw We used to holiday at Colwyn Bay.
Aberdyfi has very mild weather. athough they have quite a bit of rain its what they Irish call soft days, light fine rain which does not really bother you.

The old pensioner was talking about his active lifein Aberfydi. "If it is a fine day, I go for a walk in the park. If it is raining, I go to the cinema. Seen an awful lot of films.
A local raffle had two prizes 2nd was a week in Aberfydi and first prize was a post card of Aberfydi
Last raffle here had a first prize of a week in New Zealand. Second prize was two weeks in New Zealand.!

If I gave you the wool.......... Its probably the only way I will get one

With my knitting Teddy, it would be a long time coming. Probably wouldn't even look like one either, Judy is our good knitter.
Margaret
I like this.
If you want someone who will eat whatever you put in front of him and never say it's not quite as good as his mother's
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee8/fropki/Saurabh/2011/jun/17/husband%20substitute/1.jpg
then adopt a dog.
If you want someone always willing to go out, at any hour,
for as long and wherever you want ...
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee8/fropki/Saurabh/2011/jun/17/husband%20substitute/2.jpg
then adopt a dog
If you want someone who will never touch the remote, doesn't care
about football, and can sit next to you as you watch romantic movies
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee8/fropki/Saurabh/2011/jun/17/husband%20substitute/3.jpg
then adopt a dog.
If you want someone who is content to get on your bed just to
warm your feet and whom you can push off if he snores
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee8/fropki/Saurabh/2011/jun/17/husband%20substitute/4.jpg
...then adopt a dog !
If you want someone who never criticizes what you do, doesn't care if you are pretty or ugly, fat or thin, young or old, who acts as if every word you say is especially worthy of listening to, and loves you unconditionally, perpetually.
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee8/fropki/Saurabh/2011/jun/17/husband%20substitute/5.jpg
..then adopt a dog.
BUT, on the other hand, if you want someone who will never come when you call, ignores you totally when you come home, leaves hair all over the place, walks all over you, runs around all night and only comes home to eat and sleep, and acts as if your entire existence is solely to ensure his happiness ....
.
..
.
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee8/fropki/Saurabh/2011/jun/17/husband%20substitute/6.gif
..then adopt a cat!
You thought I was gonna say...marry a man, didn't you?
Send this to all the women you know to brighten their day.
Send this to all the men just to annoy them!
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee8/fropki/Saurabh/2011/jun/17/husband%20substitute/7.gif
You...

....have a GREAT Day!!!
I thought you were going to say teenager Margaret
teddy
Yes Teddy, I suppose a teenager would do.
Margaret
I have had three Margaret, all girls. I now have grey hair, whats left of it
teddy
I know you love them Teddy, even if they had their moments.
Margaret
They may have had their moments, but its put years on me
teddy
@Margaret, I remember our first Siamese Cat which we brought in 1979 we initially had our minds on one female but but in the end came home with a brother and sister and never regretted it they do need company, anyway I still remember the breeder asking "Have you never been owned by a Siamese before?) and how very true that turned out to be over the years, I had to have our last one put down a couple of years ago and it just got harder each time so I said no more they do become members of the Family.
They certainly do Colin. We put our last one down just before Christmas and this is the longest we have been without a cat,
teddy
I am sorry you have both had to have your beloved cats put down. Siamese cats do own you, they rule the roost.
