Coltrane Plays The Blues

Hi there!

I'm writing my diploma thesis about the album "Coltrane Plays The Blues". I transcribe the solos and analyze them, but I also would like to have some background-informations, why Coltrane decided to make an album only with blues.
I read some biographies and googled the topic, but I didn't find anything interesting...

Is there someone who knows more about this great album?

Thank you very much for helping me!
All the best

schuedae! Are you familiar with the term "sheets of sound"?
Are you familiar with American corporate decisions to help sell records?

I can only remember Marc Myers as a New York advertising executive,
who has an online jazz presence and recently comes to Ontario to host a radio segment.
www.jazzwax.com, something like that. I lost his email address losing a computer system.
He's the best for reading interviews with players, very open and candid,
and his links take you where you've never been before.
Tell you what. I'm going to post and see if this link goes anywhere.
If not, I'll try to find it somewhere.
Considering your diploma thesis expectations, it's the least I can do.

schuedae! yeah! That link takes you there. I know you'll see something new.
I just noticed this is your first post. If you reply, where are you?
This is probably too late. I've got to pay more attention.

as always, John Watt
