Hi Matt,
I have just checked out the youtube ref.and was amazed.
For others who have not done so, this guy, Linsey Pollak, manufactures a clarinet from a carrot, and proceeds to play a lively jazzy tune.
Please tell me it isnt a hoax.
Cheers John

Hey John,

It doesn't look like one to me. I wonder if there are any other musical fruits...

There may be a pear (or two).
Or how about similar treatment to a sugar cane

Yeh, I was fooling about, I will have to use more smilies ;) seriously you can make wind instruments out of just about any thing, in the demo they used a clarinet mouthpiece you could also use one from a Brass instrument, it gets a bit harder when you rely on just embouchure as in the Flute but it can still be done

That is something really different, I think he does very well.

Here is an ocarina with a difference.

Hi Margaret.
You keep producing odd surprises.
A great trick but maybe better with a Jazz tune.

Cheers John

Hi John

Well I am good at odd things, I agree about it being better with a jazz tune.
