Live Jazz and Fusion Recordings

Hi SA,
As a new recruit myself I am trying to slowly work my way through those jazz threads where I can comment without making too much of a fool of myself.
I have to admit however that, along with many older fans, the bebop period of jazz is not my favourite.
I find the likes of fusion difficult to comprehend.
Therefore I intend to visit the website you mentionand will hopefully check back with you.
Cheers OD

Hi SA,
As I promised I have checked the given website which gave good descriptions of fusion jazz and some of its artists. I had hoped to play examples but this didn't appear possible.
Not to be beaten I tried Spotify and found a number of Cds and exponents.
To be frank I am pretty confused by the offerings;
In Jazz Fusion by Sare Same I found myself for a while listening to jungle noises followed by some pretty weird piano.
In the "Best of muse" I heard a track by the Dave Pike Set called Swan Lake which I found quite pleasant. I could probably listen to more of such stuff but there again not to displace the likes of Dave Brubeck, Erroll Garner, Teddy Wilson, Fats Waller or Jelly Roll in my use of valuable spare time.
With due respect Fusion Jazz is not really for me!

Cheers ,John
