I have a question regarding a lyric in an old spiritual that has been covered by everybody from Pete Seeger to Springsteen. It's called "Mary Wore Three Links of Chain". It says, "Mary wore three links of chain, each one bearing Jesus' name." Does anybody have any idea to what that is...
