I trust a few members of this website have heard the expression "Architecture is frozen music."

Ciao,

No, what is it ?

Well I looked it up anyway. Interesting, I wonder they relate to each other. I guess its about planning a structure based on emotional response and the environment around something. Ok im not sure what Im talking about.

Yeah, well you can explain music with help of architecture...
Forms for example...

A composition is compared with a building...

Maybe you heard of something like that?

I believe that music and architecture share some concepts as space, proportion and material. There is an Spanish song that says " I hear music everywhere". And I don't believe the singer is just thinking about his MP3 :)!

See you,

Ann.

I know this song!!! In Spanish, of course. The group is called M-Clan, a pop rock band! They are really good.
Here is the link for the lyrics of the song:

If you need help, I can translate it!

architechture as music

I believe architechure is like music. A lot of it holds a instrument of some
type inside for the heart of the structure like the church I go to. You can
see it when you look up my profile. The church is a 83 year old structure
that looks like it was designed by a architech genious. Sorry I can't spell
too good! The heart of the building inside is it's pipe organ. The soul of
the church are all of the church members. The building looks to me like
a big monument of it's time. See what I mean.

well, I think pictures at an exhibition is a good example where music and architecture coincide

Surely similarities can be found between all forms of art?

As an example, that's why there is so much confusion of classifying Antonio Gaudí – was he an architect or a designer?

Although the very nature of Classical music is adherence to forms, can't modern serious music in particular be seen as structurally like architecture?

I love greek architecture in buildings. Look at my profile picture of
the church I go to. Some of these buildings that are still standing
is a momument of what people of the day could acheive during that
time frame. Look the building was built during the roaring twenties.
And yes I can hear the music of the structure. It sings when the
north or west wind blows just right.

It takes an archect to design a pipe organ's display pipes. Some of them
are beautiful and sound really good at the same time.

yes, but sound and look are two different things. something not so good looking as a computer program may make good sounding music :)

Bingo !! I've been totally amazed how some people (present company excluded) can only hear with their eyes  .
What really looks superb may sound like crap ... and vice versa.
