A thread for posting observations and links relating to Baroque Opera.

Apologies if there is a thread of this title or type already. I couldn't find it, if so.

Have a nice day. :)

Carlo Torriani sings: PIMPINONE (complete opera) by Tomaso Albinoni

from Google -
Pietro Pariati's Pimpinone, composed by Albinoni in 1708, was one of the most representative and popular intermezzi of its day, remaining in the repertoire for over thirty years. As well as demonstrating for the first time in print Albinoni's qualities as an opera composer, his Pimpinone makes an interesting comparison with Telemann's later setting of the same libretto.

Remarks on the Plot can be found here.
