Guitar Amp Overdrive Button

Hello everyone.

I just got myself a small SX Guitar Amp. I would like to know what the "Driven" or "Overdrive" button really does. The equipment's manual is silent about it.

Judy, you're categorizing the "driven" and "overdrive" buttons as heavy metal.
That's not always the case when you're getting into any kind of induced distortion.
And our thread starter wonders why the manual says nothing about it.
I'll tell you why. They know.
They know sooner or later you'll wind up sitting by yourself with only your guitar and amp,
grizzled and gnarly from your distortion quest, and all it took to be open to distortion,
distorting and distorted, with a side interest in fading 9-volt battery affects.
No amplifier company can extend that kind warranty coverage, known as rehab.
I'd rather be the pre-amp in a pre-amp master volume kind of thing.

I've never read Finnegan's Wake.
Why does this remind you of it?
I'm definitely not used to comparisons to great literature.
I'm of Scottish descent, you're talking Irish. That's close.
