I am a Brazilian film composer living in Los Angeles.

Bra-zeel, oh yes!
There I was, just over the border, sitting in an American jazz nightclub.
The band from Brazil that recorded with Stan Kenton was there.
He was the first American to record "Girl from Ipanema",
playing with South American rhythms.

That was a wonderful chance to hear a beautiful band.
They even asked me and my flute playing friend to get up and jam,
which doesn't happen very often in my life.

The next week, Doctor Martin Luther King was assassinated,
and the city was burning, one out of three stores open,
people starting to walk towards your car if you stopped at an intersection,
so I never crossed that border again.

Please don't think you are speaking the English of the English and French.
You are speaking the global language as prophesied.
My mothers' Buchanan and Stuart clans brought you the Holy Bible in English.
I'm hoping you are still working off your native energy.

In Brazil, you could be walking along and see an old Mayan temple.
After Jesus of Nazareth came down from the sky in Central America,
four different times, the Mayans followed Him and built a temple,
wherever he performed a miracle.
Getting that out to the American public could make you a prophet.

Yes, and if you can see that, we are brothers under the sun.

Brazil, Bikinis, Bossa Nova, Gaucamole and Avacodo dips, that I still don't like,
and vegetable dishes with dip, what a summer.
I'm not going to type about the teryaki sauces.

When I was a teenager, watching music shows with my parents,
we used to see these two South American guitarists,
who said they were found in the woods playing guitars they found,
and the two of them were both great guitarists who played great together.

They'd wear, uh, local clothes and have feathers in their hair.
They might be the only acoustic guitarists who remind me of the flutes and the mountain air.

And in the above posting I said Stan Kenton, doing a lot of swing era product lately, so not me,
but it was Stan Getz, a live club concert.

There was a young married couple from Guatemala at the library the other day.
He was talking about South America and their travels, and I said I know that song.
Sure, I'm thinking here's a Guatemalan and I'm saying I know the Girl from Ipanema.

As they stood beside me, I closed my eyes and started tapping out a rhythm on the shelf,
and started singing it like the sax played it,
and accented the talkative parts of the song like the singer, really getting into it.
They both started patting me, saying you sang it like the record.
That was a nice moment.
yeah, it wasn't Brazilian.

Now I'm thinking "Misty" by Erroll Garner would be good with a Latin production,
and you could slide onto the dance floor the way he slides his vocal into the first chord.
That big Emaj7 to Bm7.

King wood. That's Brazilian. I've got one piece.
I'll take a photo and try to be a Brazilianista.
I still gotta say Viva Zapata!

yeah... I could have been more relevant to what Leandro Gardini was saying about himself.
He's working on a re-score for Avatar, when James Cameron is local for me.
I was in a business in Niagara Falls talking with one of his friends last summer.
yeah... don't think I can catch up to him... he's usually into the depths too deep.

I don't think I've seen any more postings by Leandro here,
but I don't look at all the forum listings.
