Hi to all,
I'd like to introduce myself, since it's the proper thing to do for my first post here!
In very short I'm a composer and a publisher of contemporary classical music! As the rules state I won't post the name of the publishing company, or links to my works (since they are in youtube and there is a link to buy the score there... I am allowed to do that here?). And either way I hope to be an active member and post in other places as well... So here goes...
The composer
I've always felt a composer. Partly because of my huge boredom trying to study the etudes given to me while in piano lessons. I did finish my studies in piano, but carried on studying a as a composer, to a PhD level in the UK. I'm Greek btw...
My works have been performed in various parts of the world, including the UK, UK, Greece and soon in other places I hope.
It's difficult for me to pin point the aesthetic tendencies of my works, but I seriously doubt they belong in the avant garde scene... They are more timid in a sense, without this meaning they are not musical or passionate.
The publisher
As a composer, I soon realised that there seems to be a negative vibe associated with contemporary classical music, amongst performers mostly. So we formed a team and launched a publishing house (which won't be named to avoid being seen as advertising).
We have 6 composers (amongst them myself) that publish their scores through our publishing house, and we do hope to have 4 more very soon. In a total of 1 month of life we are starting to become more and more active, with the will to share as much as is commercially viable. Complete recordings can be found in youtube, preview of parts of the scores in the webpage and soon we should be able to offer a direct way of contact between the audience/performers/interested parties and the composers. something missing from the world of classical music.

In other words I'd say that I live through music, breath music, study music (despite having left the uni a few years now), teach music, offer music and... (?)am music(?)
Nice to be here! ^_^
