At Macy's Department store (Philadelphia, PA), the home of the world's largest, fully operational/playable, pipe organ, 650 choristers delighted many customers:
"Random Act of Culture" How utterly brilliant! Organ and choir sounded superb.
And what excellent recording quality too. That would have been quite an undertaking, but well worth the effort.
That actually brought a lump to my throat recalling my days in the university choir. Often if we were out in public for a social occasion and there were enough of us to make a decent SATB noise, we'd frequently break in to song and attract a (generally appreciative) audience. Nothing on the scale of the above though, that was tremendous. It's also like another take on walking around places such as Wales during festive occasions and hearing a choir start up out of nowhere, so very moving and heartening.
