I like the reference to the civilizing effect of women and children.
We cannot sell hope, but I think we can give it away when it is acquired through some loss.

I enjoyed it; it was a fun piece to listen to.

One nitpicky detail: whenever you sing "year," you approach the "r" too soon. To me it sounds like "yearrrrrr." I don't know if you were going for that effect, however, because most of the singing training I've had is for a formal chorus.

You do have a wonderful voice, though. =)
