Hi everyone,
I've been trying to figure out where each of the divisions of the pipe organ I play on are. All of the pipes are located around the sanctuary, at the front of the church. There are two pipe cases mounted on two facing walls which hold the smaller pipes. (mostly principles, wooden flutes, and some short reeds I think). There are two larger cases which are mounted on supports on two opposite sides of the sancturary. Both have identical facade pipes (which I think are the speaking 16' principles, but I'm not positive). The latter two cases seem to be enclosed, like the choir and the swell, but I don't see any swell shutters and there are no other places for the 8' great principles. (There are 8' bourdon pipes on the backs of the two enclosed cases). You can access both of these cases by using a small ladder. The other two are open. I have some pictures and I will post them soon. I also find it hard to believe that some of the 16' reed pipes and the 32' bassoon are located in such a small case (I know they are not digital however). I was wondering if anyone had any insight as to where the specific divisions are located. I know it will be hard without pictures, so I'll post some.
Thanks
Mike
