I learned Danish, purely on a whim, and even though my Danish is basic, I can at least read newspapers ane communicate on a day to day basis. Technical Danish I cannot. However, learning Danish was about as useful to me as owning a chocolate teapot, as the Danes all speak English better than I speak Danish. Most vexing.

The Danish language is not that difficult, if you know how to prepare yourself and you have the wish for explicit Danish pronounciation.
Of course we do have the strange letters in the end of the alphabet like the " æ " - " ø " and " å ". Then obviously a Danish island translates: ø. - A Danish stream is: å. An apple equals "æble". You see quite logical. Why waste a lot of unnessesary letters to spell something as simple as this?:grin::grin::grin:
Now for the mouth preparations for beginners. Remember the american actor Marlon Brando from the first movie on the Mafia trilogy. He knew the trick on how to learn Danish fast. Now I tell you guys for free, so you may practice this at home. You enter two small boiled potatoes (they still have to be very hot removed directly from the boiling water) into you mouth on each side, between your teeth and your cheek. Then you simply begin to speak, it does not have to be perfect danish, but having these hot potatoes in your mouth, it sounds Danish. Any real honest even sober dane will take you for one of our own.:lol::lol::lol:
Remember pratice make a master!!
