John, on that Lighthouse track I never tire of hearing that opening Milt Bernhardt solo! Bouncing and creative!

Hi teddy,
Just go to Youtube and type in 76 Trombones.
There are plenty of versions - personally I prefer the Henry Mancini track

I think I did mention him John, but worth a second mention as he seems to be forgotten by many. maybe because of his sense of humour he was not always taken seriously. Lets face it, despite his talent he did not seem to take himself seriously

Should feature more often

Here's another of a favourite around here. A brief tribute to Big T.
Must mention that he is a great favourite of my wife, probably her number one jazzman.

Teddy! If you are there! Thought it would be of interest to you to know that Big T's hobby was -'model railways!'

Fianally a true tale that I recall when I once penned a short article for some now long gone magazine; When Big T was playing a regular date on a busy jazz street in New York he would often leave at the intermission and visit other clubs in the area, sometimes to sit in on a number, or have drink with friends. However, the manager at the club where he was resident warned him to stop this as it was bad for business when was always leaving and visiting other establishments. But Big T just smiled and drawled, "Aw, Ah wus jest bein' neighbourly!"
