10 Reasons Why I Left America
1.) BRIAN WEISZ
One might find this hard to believe, but if you will read the first blog entry here, you will find recounted a story so heinous in nature as to have been the pivotal reason for us leaving south Florida. Having been on the receiving end of death threats from his hateful son, this scumbag of a person who has repeatedly lied to the police, our former neighbors and instilled a posse mentality in our former neighborhood in order to drive us from the area.
We (Joseph Killfoile and I) had to go to court in order to each get an Order of Protection from his disgusting son, who had in the past threatened the lives of other neighbors, most of them who happened to be gay. Brian Weisz and his bitch of a wife, Deborah have been seeking to have the Orders of Protection overturned and filed an appeal. This appeal was denied. If you google his name, you will find a case in the Broward County Court Records which reflect that he has been charged, OBO (On Behalf Of) his putrid son for the charge of
REPEATED DOMESTIC VIOLENCE. He hired an obviously ineffective lawyer from the Kelly Law Firm in Fort Lauderdale who must be giving him bad advice or else, perhaps, karma has intervened and he has gotten exactly what he deserved for his years of lying about his son's behaviour.
His appeal was denied and Brian Weisz endeavored to have the appeal reheard. That case was also denied.
The bottom line is that, in fear for our safety, Joseph and I (Stephen Clair) had to flee from our home. Being so sickened by all of the biggotry, lies, hate and death threats, we decided to take advantage of the fact the Joe is also a Canadian citizen and relocated to Canada for a chance at a new and better life.
Things improved after we moved. It took about six months before I was able to get the stress of the what we had been through in south Florida out of daily life. Eventually, my health improved and my sanity slowly started to re-emerge. Then, we all but forgot about what we had been through and started to adapt to the more tolerant lifestyle of being Canadians. It was bliss.
Earlier this week, at 10AM, we received a phone call from Brian Weisz who had tracked us down and UNBELIEVABLY he had the nerve to ask us to come to the aid of his wretched son (who seems to be not unlike Damien of Omen fame to us), stating that "we all did things as a child that we are not proud of." Never once did he offer any type of apology. He stated that he did not want the stigma of a police record hanging over his son's head for the rest of his life. Of course, since his son is a minor, logic would tell you that once he is 18 years old, his juvenile record would be sealed.
Joe asked Brian, "what about your appeal?", to which Brian responded, "we are still waiting to hear about that." After doing some quick research on the internet we found that response to be yet another lie, as the appeal and subsequent request to have the appeal reheard were BOTH denied. Even when his son, Nicholas has his juvenile record sealed, Brian Weisz will still have a record himself and to me, that is a small satisfaction for all of the torment his family put us through.
We could not believe the gall of this man, to call us, some 13 months after our going to court to get the Orders of Protection agains his disgusting son who had badgered, bothered, intimidated us and finally threatened to
MURDER US for being gay. When we left Florida, I wrote to the Mayor and Board of Commissioners for Broward County as well as to the State's Attorney, Attorney General and Governor, State Senator and State Representative for our neighborhood. Since that did no good, we also wrote to the judge who had issued the initial Order of Protection and told him how Nicholas had violated both restraining orders not once, but THREE times. The judge's secretary was abysmal on the phone, refusing to allow me to speak with the judge, offered NO help and forced me to write a letter of complaint to the Administrative Judge in the area.
Merely moving away did not bring significant relief to me emotionally or physically, so I also contacted quite a number of organizations that deal with gay rights, domestic abuse, Hate Crimes, etc. I also wrote to newspapers, magazines, contacted Congress and the Senate as well as the Attorney General. Heck, I even contacted Katie Couric. But it seemed that since the Supreme Court, in it's infinite wisdom had seen fit to rule that Restraining Orders do not HAVE to be enforced that we really had little choice other than accept what had happened and just be glad that we were now out of an untenable situation. Our only other option would be to sue Brian and Deborah Weisz in a civil suit, which we continue to evaluate.
But is there anyone out there who can believe that this man would call us in another country, more than a year after the fact and ask us to HELP his "familiy"? Well, all I can think of is that the followers of Charles Manson were called "the family" and in my opinion, Brian Weisz is well-suited to be in the same category.
So, now he has dredged up all of the past for us, forcing us once again to relive the nightmare that forced us from our beautiful home and to leave the country. I can only wish him countless nights of no sleep, misery and suffering due to his inability to deal with his son's emotional problems, not to mention criminal actions. I hope the fact that they BOTH have a record will cause them much unrest. That is the true justice.
The only way we would even entertain the idea of lifting a finger to do anything other than to offer help to others who seem to now be suffering from the actions of this little waste of humanity, by contacting the authorities on their behalf in order to further prosecute this little "Satan's Seed" would be if Brian Weisz were to offer an apology and also issue a settlement in the form of a certifed bank check in the amount of $50K.
So, it seems as though fate has finally caught us with the Weisz's. Maybe now they will start to act like prudent and responsible parents and get the help that their emotionallly disturbed child so desparately needs. We both feel that the Weisz's should be prosecuted for not providing the adequate supervision or care that rational people would endeaver to provide. Little did he know it, but Brian actually MADE OUR DAY by calling us from his cell phone and asking for our "help." Surely, that must have all but killed him to have to do.
REAP WHAT YOU SOW.
