    This is my music

After registering to this forum I took a look around to see what kind of people you have hanging around here. After listening to some songs by different users I thought that my music isnt good enough to be introduced to you, most of you make songs sound so professional. My style isnt anything like anyone elses in this review section and my songs sound mostly like sketches compared to songs around. I havent done any mixing or mastering on the tracks actually, I havent mastered those skills yet. So, listen to them as sketches of songs and give me your honest opinion about them, I wouldnt mind getting some tips either.

If youre still intrested in what kind of music I make then you should check out site with my music, www.mikseri.net/mobi .
Thank you for advance and I hope you enjoy my music, even a little

    Mobi,

Congratulations on having the courage to do these and making them available to the forum community. We all have to start someplace - and you are off to a good start. Keep up the great work !

    Hello Mobi,

Yes, thanks for posting your link. I think you have indeed done some mixing, since you must have combined several tracks to get the final audio. I listened to several of the tracks on your site. I have two comments that I hope will be a help for starters. (I'd also be interested to hear what hardware and/or software you are using.)

    1. Some of the tracks sound quite centered, as if many of the tracks are panned to center. This makes the song sound "narrow," both in my monitors and in headphones. A hardware mixer or audio production software will let you pan the voices around the stereo field to get a broader and fuller sound.

    2. All of the tracks sound slightly off center to the left...not by much, but it's noticeable. It's best if your mix doesn't feel "heavy" to one side or the other!

I hope these comments help. I did indeed enjoy listening to your work. (The percussion, by the way, generally fills the mix nicely, and at a good level.)

Hello and thank you for having time to listen my songs.
Your comments mean a lot to me and Ill see what I can do to correct these things you point out in your post.

I have tried panning tracks for a bit but it seems I havent done it enough.
Im going to listen to my songs again and see if I can make them sound more broader. Actually I did some more mixing with the Nightmare song and I would like to hear if you think its any better than the original version.

My equipment contains Brownsville electric guitar, m-audio keystation 49e, sennheiser 835e microphone and some other instruments I like to play from time to time, like ukulele.
I record through Line 6 toneport UX2 and use Ableton Live for recording my actual instruments. I use Reason with the keystation and I make drums with it too, I have roland electric drums but Im not good enought so that I could play drums for my tracks
I also just bought new headphones, AKG K171 studio.

I have added the mixed version of nightmare song as an attachment, lets see what you think of it.
Thank you once again for taking time to listen to my tracks and giving me some spirit to go on with this music

I do indeed think that sounds like a fuller mix. Impressive bass presence -- almost on the edge of being too heavy, but it works well with the whole "Nightmare". Keep up the good work!

    Mobi ...
I agree with the others ... this modification in mixing is much better - lots more presence and more like a live performance. Keep up the great work

This latest one is a much better sounding mix -- it broadens out very nicely when all the instrumentation comes in. Hope to hear more from you!

It's been a long time and at last I've got smething to offer you.
My new song Smokey's different from my earlier stuff, its kind of a jazz piece with smooth feel in it. You can almost see the smoke if you close your eyes, thats what Smokey's place is like, smooth and smokey.
I've been doing more jazzy songs now and I will release more soon.
Hope you like this new style Im going for, let me know!
The song can be downloaded from www.mikseri.net/mobi , thanks for your support!

    Mobi ...

Enjoyed this new direction in your music composition. Is that you singing the vocal in Smokey ?
The abrupt ending was unexpected ... maybe that could be a vamp and fade out.

Thank you Krummhorn for your comment. Yes, its me singing there
I dont think Im particularly a good singer but I do my best.
I had to check the word vamp from wikipedia but if I understood correctly you want me to repeat the ending and fade it out? Maybe Ill give it a try.
